Adapt your species in an ecosystem of scarce food, predators, and a dynamic climate!
Evolution: Climate is a standalone entry in the Evolution series that layers a dynamic weather system on top of the core game’s already-tense ecosystem. As before, 2-6 players adapt their species round by round using Trait cards, competing for scarce food while fending off rival Carnivores. But now the climate itself is a third threat - a Climate Track shifts between scorching heat and bitter cold based on the food cards played each round, and species that can’t adapt to the conditions simply die off.
The new climate traits open up entirely fresh strategic avenues. Heavy Fur and Migratory shield your creatures from the cold, while Nocturnal and Burrowing offer refuge from a punishing desert sun. With each species now able to carry up to four traits instead of three, the already vast combination space expands dramatically - over 200,000 possible evolutions - and the interplay between climate protection, predator defence, and food competition gives every game a satisfying, multi-layered puzzle to solve.
If the base game is a tug of war between starvation and predation, Evolution: Climate adds a third rope. It’s a richer, more unpredictable experience that rewards flexible thinking and punishes players who over-commit to a single strategy. For groups who have outgrown the base game or want a meatier challenge from the start, it’s the definitive way to play.
