In Agricola, players take on the role of 17th-century farmers in a high-stakes game of worker placement. Every turn, you must decide how to utilize your family members: will you gather wood to build fences, plow a field to sow grain, or head to the market for a new occupation? As the seasons pass, you can expand your home to make room for children—who provide more actions but also mean more mouths to feed.

The challenge lies in the delicate balance of expansion and survival. Every few rounds, the harvest occurs, requiring you to produce enough food to keep your family from starving. A farm full of cattle and stone walls is impressive, but a lack of vegetables or grain can leave you penalized during final scoring.

With hundreds of unique Occupation and Minor Improvement cards, no two games of Agricola are the same. Success requires long-term planning, the flexibility to adapt when opponents take the resources you need, and the determination to turn a patch of dirt into the most prosperous farm in the village.
